So are you an explorer, a space trader, or a bounty hunter? With Space Trader RPG from the Trese Brothers you can be any of these and more. I had tried Space Trader RPG a while back and recently decided to pick it up again. I am glad I did.
I enjoy role playing games (RPG) and turn based games so it seemed like a no brainer to me. I would consider myself more of an explorer and trader than a fighter. At its core, this is a turn based RPG strategy game where you are tasked to make your way through the galaxy and see what sort of adventures you encounter. If I had to describe this game in a word it would be extensive.
After only a few minutes with the game, you can see the developers put a lot of time, energy, and thought into the game. It is amazing how much detail there is. This is not the most graphic intensive games but it is one of the most engaging. Now there are numerous versions of the game currently out for Android:
- Free: small ads, 40 planets, 100 unique starcraft
- Elite: no ads, $2.99 USD has 2000 new sectors and 200 additional planets
- Mini: stripped down version for older devices
- International: Public Free Translation
Some of the main components of the game:
- choose your character name, profession, difficulty level, ship, and faction to be associated with.
- can have multiple games going on at one time (profile slots)
- complete background information on everything in the game.
- in-game award system
- a very detailed and helpful Help section
- huge number of game options, such as in-game notifications screen orientations, and more
Once you setup your character it is time to explore. You will travel from plant to planet, completing contracts, trading goods, fighting, and surviving. When you arrive at a planet and then head over to the city (urban area) you can visit the docks, palace, exchange, and the spice hall.
At each location there are a number of things you can do, it is all up to you. That is the beauty of this game. There is no set script, you choose what you want to do and depending on what you do, will determine what happens. Whatever you do, make sure you do not run out of fuel!
This is a game you can play for 5 minutes or 5 hours. There is so much to do and explore. I cannot imagine how long a game could go in the Elite version where there are another 200 planets! The game is also available for iOS devices. So if you are ready to see what sort of captain you will be be, download Space Trader RPG today. The hardest thing about the game is choosing where to go and how you are going to make your money!
