One of the reason I have an iPad mini is so I do not have to carry paper and pen around anymore. One of my favorite and most used apps is Evernote. So when I found out there was an app that combined Evernote with note taking, I knew I had to try it. Enter Penultimate.
Penultimate is a handwriting, note taking app what will sync with your current Evernote account. If you are a big Evernote user and have an iPad, you should try this free app. It is unknown at this time if the app is coming to Android.
Penultimate is simple app. When you first start you can use it as is or you can connect to your current Evernote account. A new notebook is created (which you can name whatever you wish) then that notebook, with the pages inside, sync to your account. The material you sync will be available on all devices but as an image.
The free app comes with 3 styles of paper (graph, lined, and plain). You can purchase additional styles from the in app Paper Shop. If you are a premium Evernote member you get them free. With the app you can easily add photos, clipboard material, and of course your handwritten notes. I did not see a feature where you can type on the page. You can easily change the pen ink style and color.
I love this app and the main reason for me is because its connection with Evernote. Being able to take handwritten notes and then sync them across my account and devices is a big plus in my mind. For more information, check out the video below or the online users guide.
