Awesome dungeon crawling game that will keep you engaged!
Do you enjoy a good adventure? Do you enjoy games that will challenge you and keep you coming back? If so, then you need to get Warhammer Quest from Rodeo Games.
Warhammer Quest is based on the classic tabletop game. It is a mix of role-playing and strategy. You take control of a party of four questing warriors in search of power and riches. Their adventures will take you deep into the dungeons and under-lairs of the Old World. You will fight orcs, spiders, bats, goblins, trolls, bosses, and more. The key to victory is experience. The more your heroes quest, the more they learn and develop.
Before I get a bit more into the game, I wanted to cover some of the basics. This is a universal app; I played it on the iPad mini which was great. I think it would be hard to play on the smaller screen. The text in the game is small even on the iPad. The graphics are awesome. Game play is very smooth and after a few minutes playing you will know what to do. The game allows for multiple saved games which is great if you want to try different strategies or start over. You can also determine the difficulty level of your game.
There are a few different in-app purchases. Right now you can purchase three new heroes and a new quest. After speaking with the developers, I bet there will be more. Ok, now to the game.
If I had to describe it in one word, FUN! In the game you take a group of four heroes, a marauder, wood elf, dwarf ironbreaker and grey wizard on numerous adventures. Each adventure will be marked for you on the map. There are 9 quests and 7 different settlements. Now if that does not sound like a lot, do not worry you will not finish the game in an hour! As you go from place to place there is a story or narration about where you are going or what has happened. I quickly got wrapped up in the stories and wanted to find out what happened next-this is one of the reasons Warhammer Quest is a great game. Another reason, is the game gives you the ability to choose where you want to go next, so you determine how the adventure goes.
Each of the heroes has his own special abilities and strengths. As you progress and gain experience you can go to the training area in the city to level you hero up. You can also purchase new armor, weapons, and food in the market place. As mentioned earlier, this is the key to victory–getting your heroes experience and improving upon their strengths, weapons, and armor.
Game play is turn based. You will move your heroes, attack, or heal and when you are done, it is your opponents turn. You will need to plan out the order of your heroes actions and maximize their attacks. Check out the video below for some in game footage.
Overall Warhammer Quest is an enjoyable and very addicting role playing strategy game. Rodeo Games has done a great job and I cannot wait to see what comes next!
