Philadelphia, PA, July 2nd, 2013 – Today, the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg, Shenandaoh Studio is proud to announce Gettysburg: The Tide Turns, an iOS wargame, now seeking support on Kickstarter.

Gettysburg captures this major Civl War conflict through a new hex-based wargame designed from the ground up for iOS by Eric Lee Smith. Players command brigades of soldiers hoping to out-wit their opponents across a beautifully rendered battlefield. Gettysburg features the same level of playability and strategic depth that Shenandoah Studio is known for, as well as the polish and intuitive interface that made Battle of the Bulge so exciting to gaming veterans and so welcoming to those who had never played a wargame before.

In 2012, our Kickstarter project Battle of the Bulge launched to great critical* and popular success, thanks in large part to the support of our Kickstarter backers. We are returning to Kickstarter to seek community help to implement Gettysburg to the same high standard. Our community is key to our success.

The Kickstarter for Gettysburg: the Tide Turns will run until August 6th, 2013 with a goal of $20,000 and you can see it here.

Gettysburg: The Tide Turns planned features:

  • Play as the Union or Confederates across the entire scope of the battle
  • Play on both iPad and iPhone
  • Easy play for casual players
  • Access to depth and full game rules for hardcore players
  • An innovative movement system that randomizes turns for increased tension
  • Beautifully rendered maps and interfaces in period style
  • Historical context and content included along with the game
  • Online multiplayer via Game Center
  • And more to be announced…
