Lead your legion of troops to victory over your enemies.
If you are looking for a quick, easy to win, military strategy game, then Legion is NOT for you. Legion form Slitherine Software is one of the most complex games out there for the iPad. Yes the game is complex, yes it will take you some time to figure out, and yes it is not a fast game but it is great game.
Legion is based on a board game. You are part of the Roman Empire and must lead your legion of men into battle to help protect and build the Empire. There is a lot to the game- you need to manage troops, your cities, diplomacy, the economy. The game comes with a 22 page manual and tutorial campaign to help you get started. This is a single player game and after the tutorial, there are 8 more missions you can complete. For each, you can either choose the historical settings or an alternative setting. Under the alternative settings, you can choose sides and the initial setup. You can also determine the difficulty setting.
When you play Legion, make sure you have the time to truly enjoy and invest in the game. The graphics are not the sharpest but that is fine. The game interface will take a bit of time to get used to but it is not impossible. Everything you need to know or find out is at your finger tips. Being able to jungle multiple facets in the game is what makes it hard but it is what makes it fun and worth time. Legion is a bit more expensive than you average game but you will be done in 5 minutes.
Since Legion has been out for a while, I thought I would combine my comments with an app review summary. Below are some of the other reviews online for Legion. No matter which you read, all agree that the game is well worth the time and money.
