Review:
Aquator, from KiWi Games is a fun underwater shooting game. When I play I cannot help but think of Aquaman, one the favorite super heroes from cartoons in the 70’s. 🙂
So what is the story behind the game? Well Aquamonsters want to kidnap the little baby fishes and Aquator has been called into action to help protect them. Well our hero has a bathyscaphe. The submarine ship is equipped with a powerful cannon and a super bomb. Your job is to help steer the sub and attack the evil fish.
Aquator is a simple game to play—you tilt your Android device from side to side to navigator the sea and when you want to nuke them, simple tap the bomb button in the right corner. Â As you are moving, your ship automatically fires. There are power-ups you can collect to augment your weapons and change your firepower.
When you get to the boss, they will be firing back so you need to keep your eyes open. I enjoy these type of shooting games-they are very straightforward and very fun. Â The controls and game play make it appropriate for all ages. I should mention you can adjust the sensitivity of the tilt and pause the game if needed.
The graphics and game play are very good. On the main menu there is a trophy icon, which when tapped asks you to log in. There is no explanation and right now when clicked it does not go anywhere. My assumption is that it will one day. I touched base with the developer about any future updates. They indicated that they plan to add a Campaign mode (with more levels, different enemies, and story) depending on how this game does. Â All of those items would make this game even better.
So if you are looking for an underwater shoot ’em up game, give Aquator a try.
