Bethesda, Md. – June 6, 2013 – Spark Motion, a portable motion analysis software designed for use in authentic performance and rehabilitation environments has announced a rebrand of its company from Kinesio Capture. With a strong emphasis on providing the most accessible sports performance and rehabilitation technology, Spark Motion is enhancing its brand to effectively reach and engage its consumers.
The Spark Motion technology is designed to help evaluate and correct inefficiencies in athletes in authentic environments as well as remotely via a HIPAA compliant Cloud. Coaches, trainers and medical practitioners are able to record video with their iPad and then instantly analyze the data. The coaches can also use the Screen Recorded Video (SRV) function to create videos capturing their verbal and on screen visual aids as they analyze their athletes video clips. This remote training and consultation technology, in the mobile Spark Motion app, is revolutionizing the way athletes, coaches, trainers and physicians train and collaborate.
“We are creating a spark in the sports performance and rehab industry”, said David Gottfeld, President and Founder of Spark Motion, “Our goal is to ignite, provoke and enhance how athletes train, provide coaches and trainers the ability to assist clients via immediate video feedback or remote video feedback to help improve athletic performance.”
Under its new name, Spark Motion will be releasing another update to its flagship app, called the Spark Pro App, as the software continually evolves to better meet the needs of athletes and trainers. This update includes an e-commerce option which now means trainers can not only share videos with their recorded feedback via the HIPAA cloud, but now they can also attach a price and charge for the analysis video via a secure credit transaction. The same level of tech security used in hospitals is also used on the performance side to ensure that all video remains private to trainer and user in a unique two-way communication portal.
Patrick “Packy” Kennelly is a licensed PT and also a Co-Founder of Spark Motion. As the Director of HealthCare Services at Spark, he sees the new technology as the standard of care for assessment, outcome markers, and exercise prescription.
“We are constantly striving to add value to our technology, so the timing of the name change to Spark Motion makes perfect sense as we prepare to take our brand to a new level this year,” said Kennelly, “We are making a seamless transition so our users can continue to utilize the benefits of the motion analysis technology, which Kinesio Capture began in 2011.”
Some of the current clients of Spark Motion include: Athletes’ Performance, Equinox, Medstar NRH, the New England Patriots, Los Angeles Dodgers, Detroit Lions, Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs, the University of Arizona, University of Texas and the University of Georgia.
