Who does not enjoy a good mystery? Well if you do, then you should try Elixir: The League of Immortality from G5 Entertainment. This new game is universal but I tried it on my iPad mini.  The HD version of the game on the iPad looks fantastic!  The sound is also very well done.  Now I have played this type of game before, mostly on my iTouch, but I must say it is even better on the bigger screen. The mayor is dead and you need to help  You will need to travel to various locations in the game, explore these areas for items and clues.   As you go to each location, you will be given a task list.  Many times it will seem obvious on what you need to do, but other times you will find yourself just tapping around the screen to find something that moves or works.  You will have a journal where you can keep notes and an inventory area to keep the items you collect.

The game has three game settings:

  • Casual-has tutorials, helpful hints
  • Advanced-less hints, slow recharge
  • Extreme-even less hints and slower recharge

Now, if you are new at these types of games, definitely run it on the casual setting, but if you want a challenge, choose the other settings.  Overall the game is fun and will make you think.  If you want a fast paced, shoot’em up game, this is not it! This is a game where details and the “little things” are important. Yes it is a hidden object game but I think of it more as a puzzle game.  The game has 62 levels and 21 puzzles and mini-games for you to solve, so it will keep you busy for some time.  My kids really enjoy these types of games too.

Another neat feature of the game is that it  allows for 8 different player slots and has a number of in game achievements you can work on as you go.

I give this new game from G5 Entertainment, high marks. The graphics, sound, and story line are very well done and the game is entertaining and worth the time.  If you like puzzles games,  Elixir: The League of Immortality, will not disappoint.
