Guide your fireman through each level by extinguishing flames with your water pump and rescuing animals from the fires.
If one of your childhood dream jobs were to become a fireman, this app will give you a chance to live out your dreams and become one vicariously through this game. Fireman is a scrolling platform game that is packed with two stages with 18 levels in each stage. The object of the game is to collect and rescue animals scattered throughout each level while extinguishing fires with your dual-purpose water pump/jetpack (which shows some resemblance to the same aqua jetpack seen in Super Mario Sunshine) and make it to the finish line without extinguishing all three of your lives by getting burned by the flames or pierced by the spikes.
The game will provide you with a walkthrough tutorial in the first nine levels in order for you to get acclimated to the game controls and environment. Throughout the tutorial levels, an animated walkie-talkie character aptly named Talky will guide you through each of the features within the game. In the Head Quarter tab located in the main menu, you can check your in-game achievement status, outfits collected, pets rescued, ranking and “lost and found” items found. You can purchase upgrades and other useful items in the Shop section such as expanding your water gun storage capacity, extra lives, more range for your water gun, double experience points for picking up certain items and unlocking extra characters.
Like Angry Birds, not only does Fireman have the same level menu layout, it also has the same engaging appeal to adults and children with its creative animated graphics and interface. Based on the general outlook of the game, Fireman appears to be geared toward kids ages 7-11 because of the colorful characters and elements including the Fireman’s pet pooch sidekick who helps him pick up items in each level. However, it is challenging, fun and sometimes tricky enough for older users to enjoy (especially when the moving flames are chasing you some of the levels, but I digress).Also has a little bit of a classic arcade appeal with the character having three lives in each level.
Overall, Fireman is a fun 2D scrolling platform jumper that will undoubtedly test your critical, strategic and quick thinking skills that will quickly grow on you due to its addicting gameplay. This game is simple to play with navigable controls and has a smooth graphical interface enabled for optimal gameplay with little to no lags while playing. Fireman is free to download in the Google Play and iTunes app stores.
