Think you have what it takes to build and manage your own city?
Test your mayoral skills and slowly become a tycoon in City Island 2, the sequel to Sparkling Society’s original City Island game. This fun city building game beings with a 10-lesson tutorial showing you the basic features and controls such as how to build houses, how to supply energy to your town and how to build parks around town. If you have played the first City Island game, there will not be much of a learning curve. Customizable options and features including commercial and community buildings, farmhouses, roadways and walkways, foliage, parks and power plants. If you need help in progressing in the game, a city advisor will be at your disposal to assist you with what you need to do improve your city. The game’s offline capabilities will enable you to play at any time without having to search for a Wi-Fi signal or waste your phone’s data.
As with any city building game, playing this game will require dedication, innovation, strategic maneuvering and excellent planning. City Island 2 does a great job of adding realistic elements into this game including the visitors expressing their current state of being. This game is also a great addition to the City Island series with its bright and colorful animation, smooth-running graphical interface, ability to invite other people and friends to play the game and its simplistic gameplay.
This game is as addictive to play like SimCity or any of the Roller Coaster Tycoon titles. One aspect that could have been added is an online feature where the ability to visit other people’s cities as well as a chat setting. As popular as this game is with more than four versions released already, I’m surprised this version lacks this attribute. I’m also surprised this game does not have a feature where you can create your own characters and families or, at the very least, personalize your own character’s avatar with clothing, facial features, etc.
Overall, this game is fun and engaging to play albeit without the personality The Sims has to offer. This game is free to download in the Google Play store and is per 48MB large in size.
