Help a boy and his dog reclaim their stolen home from evil aliens by eliminating them on their home planets.
Here’s the backstory: a boy and his canine companion travel to various planets and worlds to search and reclaim their stolen home from alien thieves. In order to surpass each level, you must eliminate all of the enemy aliens in each level by moving the metal plates across the glass surface on each side of the screen to hit the ball and destroy them before the ball flies out of play. Use weapons such as lasers, bombs, fire and plate size increases to help you progress through each level.
The game features two game modes, Normal and Hard, as well as over 96 increasingly difficult levels which span across six worlds beginning with the easily navigate Plankton planet and ending with the maniacal Blackout planet.
At first glance, Salvation will seem like you are playing a two-player version Pong by yourself. Once you continue to play each level, you will soon discover that Salvation is a “gotcha” game due to its challenging and need-for-precision gameplay. The most appealing aspect of this game is perhaps the game’s overall colorful graphical interface (which can also be be enhanced for devices with HD capabilities). Each planet’s environment is unique in its own way and the changes between them are noticeable; it’s not like the developers simply changed the background color on each planet and called it a day.
Every planet is setup with its own type of enemies, obstacles and other twists, which adds a healthy dose of variety to the game. Because of these factors, along with the storyline visually assisted with comic panel cut scenes upon entering each new world, this game would be perfect for kids to play to keep them interested in the game and to sharpen their quick thinking, multitasking abilities and quick reflexes at the same time through the interesting and somewhat intense gameplay.
There are enough levels that will keep them invested enough to finish the game in its entirety. The only element I would change in this game is the player’s instant access to play other worlds before fully conquering all of the levels in the first world. Besides fully beating the game, what makes strategy games like this fun to play is finishing each level one at time to discover what is in store for you in the succeeding stages that are locked. If the levels in the games are locked, so should the worlds to maintain a form of continuity.
Overall, Salvation is a fun game worth downloading. This game is free to download for Android, iOS, and Windows mobile devices.
