Review:
Probably the first thing I do these days when going to a restaurant or shop where I am planning on spending some time, is check if there is wi-fi. Whenever I can save on my over the air data, the better! I would hazard a guess that I am not the only one. 🙂 Today I am reviewing a neat little app that can help you manage your wi-fi connections: Wi-Fi Locator.
What the app does is automatically connect your Android device to the nearest wi-fi connection, that you have listed in the app. Now the free version only allows for two networks, while the pro version allows for unlimited networks. The app is very straight forward and easy to use. Once you setup the networks in the app, you are ready to go.
The two main advantages of this app are:
1. Having your Android device automatically connecting to your preferred wi-fi network when in range. It is definitely nice to have your device switch to wi-fi without having to go through and fiddle with settings.
2. Saving your battery. The app will turn off the wi-fi when you are not in range too.
I have been using the app for about a week and does the job. No complaints from me. There is a free version of the app so you can try it out before getting the pro version. If you find yourself using a certain set of wi-fi networks, I would think this app would be a nice help and free you up from having to manually switch from data to wi-fi. So give the app a try and let us know what you think.
