An excellent, deep game where you are tasked in rebuilding the galaxy- good luck!
Well the guys over at Trese Brothers have put together another excellent game. Space Trader 4X Empires is a huge game and one that keep you going for a while. The game is available for both Android and iOS and did I tell you it is free?
There is a pro version of the game which will give you expanded maps, more technologies and more houses to play- all via an one in-app purchase. The app allows you to save multiple games so you can try different things.
So your quest is to help rebuild the galaxy, starting only with a few ships. You begin by colonizing a couple of planets and growing from there. The game provides you with an advisor to help you get moving. There is so much to the game it can be almost overwhelming, but if you take it slowly and a little bit at time you will make progress. You will need to colonize planets and from there grow your population, upgrade your mining for more resources and so on.
The game is turn based. So once you have finished all you can do, you submit your turn and begin again.
The game interface is nicely done. You can easily access the information you want/need without taking up too much screen space. You can pinch to zoom the playing area to get closer views when needed.
A written review will only provide so much information. If you enjoy 4X gaming or a game that will last and grow on you, I recommend you try Space Trader 4X Empires.
I was over at the developer’s site and they have put together a video tutorial of playing chapter 1 of the game, so why not take a look and see the game in action. It is a long video but you probably will not need to watch the whole thing to get the flavor of the game.
