Your mission in City Island: Airport 2 is to turn the quiet, empty island into a major tourist location. Can you do it? With some planning and careful growth you should be able to do it. Sparkling Society has decided to bring a new game into the City Island series. If you enjoy city building games, then you should check out the game.
If you are unfamiliar with the City Island series or city builders, the game does come with a quick tutorial you can run. I played the game on my Galaxy Note 2 and the tutorial seem a bit choppy but was able to move through it. This is a free game but I saw no ads! The main currency is blue diamonds which can be used to speed up building times, level up buildings, purchase more cash, etc. You will earn these in the game, but you can also purchase them with real money.

There is a lot to take care of in the game, which is definitely one of its strong features. You will always be busy doing something , so you island will grow quickly. As you build, the game advises you. For example, I decided I wanted to build a new fuel storage facility,well you need to build a new fuel pump first. The game let me know that and showed me what to do.
Here is a quick summary of what you will need:
1. Build and upgrade. You can do this in three areas:
- Airport: runways, hangers, fuel pumps
- City: houses, parks, camping, etc
- Decorations: Sphinx, fountain, Big Ben, Stonehenge, and more
2. Earn money. You do this by setting up more flights into your island, having more businesses, and completing quests
3. Maintain your fuel. You need to build refineries and pumps to create fuel so you planes will fly.
4. Deal with tourists. You need to make sure they are happy.
5. Level up. As you level up you will unlock new quests, buildings, decorations, upgrades, plots of land.
6. Earn medals.
Hopefully by now, you are getting a pretty good idea of what is all involved in the game. This is a city builders game. The game gives you a ton of blue diamonds and $250K to begin with so you are not limited when you first start (unlike many of the games in this genre). The graphics are nicely done and the menu system is minimized to give you the most playing room.
One feature I really like is the up arrow icon, this will show you the level of all buildings so you can easily see which ones you need to upgrade. There is also a social feature to where you can share your friendcode to others to join the game.
City Island: Airport 2 is a nicely done city builder that gives players the ability to quickly build and expand their tropical island tourist destination. It is a free game that does not bother you with ads or significantly hinder your ability to play. So go take a look at the game. I need to run; I got planes landing, I need to finish upgrading my fuel storage, and I need to get more businesses ready for the tourists!
