I recently got the chance to give Guest Locker a try on my Galaxy Note 2. The reason I decided to try it was the premise behind the app.
“Guest Locker protects your private and confidential information on your mobile device from guest users without them even knowing they have limited access. Unlike other security apps, there is no rooting required and your guests won’t even realize their access is restricted.”
The app is pretty easy to use. After you download the app, you will setup the admin pin code and the guest pin code. Your next step is to configure the phone to run the app. Now this could be the spot so folks will get lost or decided not to use the app. You will need to make Guest Locker your default messaging app, lockscreen, and launcher, plus set up the notification mirroring service. I understand why the app would need to have these permissions but if you any custom launcher or lockscreen you will not be able to use them.
The app is a great tool for those that share their smartphone a lot (with kids or others) or those concerned about phone security.
The app setup and layout is nicely done. I had no problems moving around the app or setting things the way I wanted. The app is currently on sale for its launch, so if this is something you need on your phone, you can get it a very nice price.
