An incredibly fun game that really pulls you in and makes you feel like you are a part of it.
Before I give you my thoughts, here is an official description:
“In République, players assist Hope, a desperate young woman struggling to escape from a secret, Orwellian state. Communicating using a stolen phone, Hope contacts the player and asks them to hack into the nation’s surveillance system, assume control, and guide her out of the clutches of the omnipresent Overseer.
Literary works such as 1984 and Brave New World, and current geopolitical events including global surveillance and Internet censorship serve as key sources of inspiration for both the narrative and the stealth-survival gameplay. Players expand their control over surveillance cameras and other network-enabled devices, growing into an active threat to the Overseer and his grip over his shadowy nation.”
Ok, so what do I say about this game? Get the app, put on your headphones, turn down the lights and get ready to play. This is an awesome game and definitely one for those that enjoy point and click adventures.
The game is currently available for both Android and iOS. There are 3 episodes available (see the trailers below) with 2 more on the way!
The game comes with 2 difficulty levels:
- Story mode -easier and you can explore and experience the story
- Normal mode- normal game
The app plays well on a small screen but I would recommend a tablet to really enjoy the graphics and great details in the game. The game allows for subtitles, graphic quality, camera angle adjustments.
It all starts off with a phone call you receive…..
Your job is to help Hope escape, you do this by seeing what she cannot and guiding her where to go. The game really pulls you in and makes you feel like you are a part of it.
There are so many questions, you need to answer. What is the recalibration? Who was killed? Is Hope really contaminated?
I am not going to say much more, why? Exploring the game and figuring out what to do is part of the game and really makes it enjoyable.
I cannot say enough great things about this game. It will keep going and will find yourself saying, ok another minute or two….
