Attention all military history buffs and turn based strategy game lovers, there is a new game for your iPad it is Wars and Battles. The game will be available for Android in the near future but for now it is iOS only.
This is a great turn based strategy game and is will be a good investment for all strategy gamers. The game comes with the Battle of Normandy but in 2015 they will be adding: Austerlitz 1805, Gettysburg 1863, Kharkov 1943, Market Garden 1944, The Korean War 1950-51 and October War 1973.
The initial purchase will allow you to play the campaign in each of the 7 battles. Advanced scenarios and full battles (including “what-if” scenarios) will be available through in-app purchases.
I will cover some of the basics. You can play solo or online against others. The game allows for 2 saved games and gives players a number of options to customize the game the way they want it. The app is very well designed, plays great, and it definitely worth the price.
What makes this game stand out? One is that you can switch between 2D or 3D graphics. The graphics are done in a way that enhance the experience of the game but do not distract or make it hard to play. Pitch to zoom works great, plus you easily turn on/off terrain. The second key for me is the realism of the game. The developer has setup about 130 characteristics that influence your units and it varies depending on what they are. Third is the amount of options and variety of game play.
It going to neat to see the other campaigns that come out in 2015.
