Auto Law Pro is a new service and Android app that definitely looks to provide drivers with “roadside assistance.” This free app will help you when you are:
- dealing with a broken down automobile
- involved in accident
- receive a ticket
Now everything this app can help you with, you can do without the app, but when you stuck on the side of the road or dealing with a stressful situation, it is nice to have things organized and easy to access.
My wife was in an automobile accident about a month ago and if we had this app, it would be been helpful. I will explain in a minute.
When you first start the app, you will be asked to setup you basic information provide any emergency contacts. The app is broken into 2 main sections:
- I had an accident
- I got a ticket
Within each of these sections, the app gives you an easy to use interface to save pertinent information from each incident. When dealing with a ticket, you can take a photo of it and indicated what type it is, and write some notes. When done, you can send your info to an attorney in the AutoLawPro network (but is not mandatory).
When dealing with an auto accident, the app is nicely organized to help you get the information you need such as: photos of your car, the other vehicle, insurance information, location, witness, responding officer, etc. Again when you are done, you can send your info to an attorney in the AutoLawPro network.
I contacted the developer to get some more information about the attorneys you can contact. The AutoLawPro attorney network is currently has listings in over 30 states and they are in the process of growing their listings. Again this is not a mandatory option but could come in handy if you needed an attorney.
When my wife had her accident, we took photos but did not have any of the other information handy when we got home. We eventually got it, but I know if I had the app, it would have helped us remember what all we needed to keep for your records.
Finally, the app does have a section where you can take a video, but you will need to pay $3.99 USD to unlock this feature.
Overall I found the app very easy to use, nicely organized, and definitely one that I would recommend to my children to have on their phones just in case.
When I reached out to the developer to ask about his background. I will end with his response: “I am a Stanford trained lawyer. I developed the app because, as a personal injury/auto accident attorney, I saw that there was a great deal of uncertainty that consumers had about what to do in an accident or what to do with traffic citations. I wanted to create an app that would provide consumers a streamlined process of gathering relevant information.”
Download the app from Google Play.
