Above The Abyss is an endless runner game where you goal is to guide your ball over the board which lie over the abyss. If you roll off the boards, you are gone.
The game is simple enough but it will take some practice to get very far. When you first start the game, there is a brief tutorial to show you how to play. Tilt your device back and forth to move the ball and then tap, swipe to jump or speed up.
The game is free – as you move, collect coins which can be used in the store to unlock different style balls. There is the Leopard, Tiger, Zebra, and Giraffe. ball. Each Beasty Ball unlocks special powers and abilities. You can of course purchase coins with real money. In addition to the in game store, there is a stat center and a connection to Game Center.
Within the game there is no sensitivity setting which might be helpful to have. I found myself falling way too often and seemed to over compensate in my tilting.
Overall the game is well designed, has challenging game play, good background music, and comes with a great price tag! This is definitely for a person who has steady hands and likes to challenge themselves. Thanks Steve for the fun game.
