A platformer game is one where the character jumps from one platform to another or over obstacles. If you like jumping, try the games on this list. Each one is built around the concept of moving through the level by jumping. Some have detailed stories and graphics, while others are focused on challenging, quick reactions to move through the level. Good luck.
BADLAND
BADLAND opens with ominous music, loud jungle sounds, and a creepy bunny staring in the distance. Press the touchscreen to launch the black head with two wings into the air. Watch out for spinning gears and fan blades that flick the head forward. Crumbling structures and narrowing passage ways hinder your progress. Keep pressing the screen to move forward through the side scrolling level. If you can’t keep up with the pace of the moving level, the game ends.
This game is available on Google Play, iTunes, and Windows Phone.
Swordigo
Swordigo is a complete platformer game with character experience, an inventory of weapons and items, a world map, quests, and a detailed story. The first quest you embark on is to find your Master. Arm yourself with a sword and travel through the forest. Along the way, you will meet people that give advice and establishments that you can enter. Use the arrows on the bottom left of the screen to navigate and press the sword icon to attack. Press the curving arrow icon to jump; press it twice to double jump. You can change the location of the icons on the screen and adjust the music and sound in the menu. Progress through the game finding ways to defeat the Corruptors.

Platform Panic
Get ready to panic in Platform Panic. This game features music and sounds reminiscent of arcades. It looks like the old megaman games. You will have to react quickly to the action and prompts on screen. Swipe the screen right or left to move in those directions. Do this when objects, such as missiles, are falling from the top of the screen. Swipe the screen up to jump. Reach higher places on the screen and leap over holes with this motion. It won’t help though. You will die several times and everytime you die, the level changes. But, the levels will eventually repeat. So keep playing, and you’ll become familiar with the game and get better. Plus, it helps to hold the phone as far away from your eyes as possible. You will be able to see everything on the screen and react quicker.
This game is available on Google Play and iTunes.
Skyriders
For a more relaxing gaming experience, try Skyriders. Collect stars and avoid obstacles while traveling through a runway-shaped course. Use tilt controls to move the spaceship side to side and jump by tapping the screen. After a couple of levels, a new move is revealed – the flip. Tap the screen twice to flip in the air. To set the controls, hit the Pause button and select Options.

Recommendation:
If I were to download just one game from this list, it would be Epic Ninja – 2D Platformer. It is fun and more playable than the other games on this list. You won’t get tired of it, and it is challenging.
