A retro shooter game where you need to stop wave after wave of invaders.

Ok Cadet, are you ready for your mission? If you decided to accept the challenge, your job is to destroy the waves of alien invaders.

Drone Invaders is an enjoyable retro shooter game available for both Android and iOS devices. I tested the iOS version for this review.

You start off as a lonely cadet and as you complete missions, your rank will go up.

In addition to completing missions there is a daily challenge which will help you earn more coins. The coins you earn can be used to upgrade shield, bombs, wormhole, score boast, heart (lives). You can also get some coins for conecting Facebook and Twitter.

To move up the ranks, you will need to complete 3 missions in each set. It will take you some time to complete then and I would recommend you read up on what they are before you start.

So how do you play? The enemy ships comes down, like Space Invaders, and you tap the screen (on the enemy) to shoot them. Now there is no ship or weapon on the screen that represents you.

To survive, you will need to be quick and hit the enemy as close to the top as possible to give yourself time. Every once in a while, you will need to hit the reload button when out of ammo. You lose when an enemy reaches to the bottom of the screen.

Somewhat like tower defense games, you will face wave after wave and will not stop until you are defeated. Now you can pause game if needed.

This game will keep you going. This is definitely a game for those who want to challenge themselves to see how far they can go. The game was a bit frustrating at first. After 30 waves, I still had not been promoted because I had not fulfilled one of the missions. Well I guess I know what I will be doing for the next hour! 🙂
