So what is Pickapik? From the developer’s website: “Pickapik is an app which allows you to share pictures with your friends and family so that they vote and share their opinion.” I really could not say it any better.
This free iOS app is definitely one for those that need a hand when making a decision. 🙂
The app is very easy to use and you will be setup in now time. The interface is clean and straightforward, and you will need a network connection to use it. After you download the app, you will need to make an account. Once the account is made, your first order of business is to setup your profile and then invite friends and family to join.
Pickapik is a social networking app (of sorts), so one of the nicest feature is that you can make your account private, so only friends and family can see your images. In addition to this, you can do the following in the app:
- adding filters to pictures
- tag users
- tag your location
- invite friends that don’t follow you to view your post
- crop your pictures
The idea behind this app is pretty good. Say you are shopping and you are looking at a variety of different shoes, you can take some photos, put them in the app and then ask you friends and family which they would choose. Users can rate the images and leave some feedback on each one.
The only negative about the app, is that your friends and family will need to have an account to use it. and be on line when you are looking for feedback. Since you can make private accounts, I definitely like the concept behind the app. The app is only on iOS so you and your family will need an iPhone also.
After you have posted your images for some feedback, the app allows you to do some searching. You can search people, what is popular, various hashtags, and even by location.
