I am a big Twitter user. I have multiple accounts and am always checking out to see what is new or what is happening. Are you a Twitter user? Are you on Android or iOS? For Android users there are tons of apps and options but for iOS users, there is some limitation based on how Apple has designed their OS. (This is one reason why I appreciate Android a bit more than Apple, but that is another post).
NC – Twitter Widget for Notification Center is an app for iOS users to allow them to view tweets from the convenience of the notification screen. What the app does is add a widget to the notification center so you do not have to open the device or app to see your tweets. I should note that you need to be running iOS 8.0 or greater on your device.
Setup is pretty straight forward- download the app, activate it, and put in your Twitter information and you should be good to go. The layout is pretty standard and works well on both the large and small screens. For each tweet your see, you can favorite it, retweet it, or choose to open the tweet in your Twitter app.
You can see what it will look like on your device from the market shots below.
There are a few things I would like to see improved in the app. First off is the price. It seems a bit expensive to me. Right now it is $6.99 USD. Second is that the widget only allows for one Twitter account. I am using multiple accounts each day, so this would not help me too much. Third the widget only shows about four or five tweets at at time. Again, since I am on it all the time, I really need to see more tweets.
Now these negatives are somewhat relative. If you are a casual Twitter user, only have one account, and only really want to get a quick look at things, the NC – Twitter Widget for Notification Center does the job. Since there is not a free or trial version of this widget, I am not sure what to tell you. Go through the app store and see what is out there first and if you want your tweets on your notification screen, this app should be for you.
