The biggest thing I had to learn when I was on my own was to handle/manage my money. Smartphones did not exist then but if they I had, I am pretty sure I would have done better with my money. Today I am looking at Gullak Money Manager. Now there are quite a few money manager apps out on the market today so it would be best to evaluate a few out before setting on one.

What do you (personally) need in a mobile money manager? What do you need the most help in? For me years ago, and even today it is keeping track of expenses.

Gullack, Expense Manager & Money Saver is available for both Android and iOS. I am testing the Android version for this review. It should be noted that the company behind this app appears from India and the iOS app is not available in the US market. On the app page, there is a listing of a number of Indian banks that can be used with the app but it is not required.

When you first start you will need to create an account, which you can use on your mobile device or online. The developer’s website is nicely done and have a very helpful FAQ Section. If you have any questions, I recommend you head over there.

Gullak Expense Manager & Money Saver gives you the ability to keep track of three key items:

  • Income
  • Expense
  • Overall Budget

Once you get into the app, you should not have any problem with figuring out what to do. Now the key is that you do something. The app cannot get data on its own. You need to be pro active and add information. If you are consistent in doing that, after a few weeks you will be able to see the usefulness and power of the apps.

The history aspect of the app is what I think is most important – seeing where you money is going is important. The app provides a number of different ways to view your money history. You can also organize your items in various categories. Having the ability to keep up with your expenses and budget on the go is important.  How many receipts do you actually keep? Using Gullak will allow you to add the expense right away and help you stay more informed with your budget.

And for data saver, you can check Android recovery software, which is capable of Android data recovery.
