Do you have kids? Are you concerned about what they watch or exposed it? If you are like most parents, you are, especially these days. There are quite a few apps on the market to help parents out. Today I am looking at the Kids Safe Video Player from SAMI (Smart Apps for My Infant).
Kids Safe Video Player is a free app available for Android, iOS, and Kindle. It can be run on a phone and a tablet, but I think most folks will be using a tablet for the larger screen size.
The key thing about the app is that the videos are pre-selected and their are parental controls. The system does use YouTube videos so they have no control over any ads that might pop up. Your child will be only watching videos that are in the system or that you the parent add.
The app has the following main sections:
- Learn videos about the basics concepts
- Play episodes of the best cartoons
- Dance with the most popular songs to sing and move
- Laugh videos for laughing
- Favorites – a list of saved videos
In addition to the video selection, parents can set the language, so if you want to help teach a different language, and you can put a timer on the app. The languages available are English, Spanish, German, and Catalan.
The app is pretty straight forward to use. The interface is clean and colorful and very kid friendly. There are not a lot of extra buttons or on screen controls, so your child should not have any difficulty navigating the app.
I definitely like the idea behind this app. Parents should have a say in what their kids see and watch online and this app, Kids Videos & Cartoons Player from SAMI does a good job. If you have small kids and looking for a way to monitor their video watching, give this app a try.
