Blinddate is an service that helps match make folks online. The app is available for both Android and iOS users.
To get started, you will need to create an account and setup a profile. With any of these dating type apps, security is important. The company says that only verified users will be allowed access.
Matches are based on personalities. You are asked 40+ questions which you need to answer honestly to get the best match. Once you have completed this, you can then go and search other users. Once you find someone who you are interested in, you can begin a chat with them. The more you chat, the more you will get to know them. Where it goes from there, is up to you.
An interesting feature of the site is Blinddate Hour.
Blinddate Hour takes place between 9.00 – 10.00 PM EST every day. During this time, all pictures on the site will become blurred. Your job is to make new connections by searching and contacting users, based on information and no pictures. When it is over, you can then see their photos. This makes for an interesting way to find new people. Looks are not always everything,
Blinddate is currently only available in the US and Sweden. It is free to join but there are paid, premium service if you want more features. I do not have any information on the costs.
One thing I like about the site was the Tips and Tricks feature. In this section, they provide fourteen points on how to make a good profile, how to act and contact others appropriately, etc.
The app is well done and has a clean interface. It is simply an extension of the website. So if you are single and looking for someone to hang out with, then Blinddate might be something you want to check out.
